I heard two fantastic speakers at the BREI Annual conference in Nashville in June. I don't know how much they cost, but they were AWESOME!!! Dr. Dale Henry has recently written the book the Proverbial Cracker Jack and he speaks on motivation, Leadership, Teambuilding, personal development and more. 1-800-260-9410. The other one is Rebecca Ryan. She is the founder of Net Generation Consulting and speaks to Economic Development/Entrepreneurship issues. Prior to being a consultant, she played in the WNBA. 1-888-922-9596

Bob Arnold of Kentucky, who has spoken at MEDC is outstanding. He is in the SEDC directory. R. Ingram
I work at MDA in Research.  I think Henry Cote' in Community Services would be an excellent speaker to have concerning federal grants and loans available. He is a wealth of knowledge. He can talk to communities and/or project managers.  He has information that is vital to all levels, and I think he goes unnoticed.  He is also my partner in Momentum Communities and Downtown Housing.
His contact info is:  Henry Cote, 359-2378, Woolfolk Building

Mayor Riley in Charleston SC is always great. His story is phenomenal. And he is a compelling personality. J. Lawrence
Mayor Wellington Webb (former Mayor of Denver) tells a great story about revitalization and regionalism. He is not terribly charismatic but his ability to build bridges from Denver into surrounding counties for a Metro vision was great. Also inspirational as an African-American success story. J. Lawrence
I have spoken to some folks who would really like to see Richard Florida (Rise of the Creative Class) come to Mississippi. He would be an excellent fit in many towns.  J. Lawrence
Chris Klinger is great! We use him for all of our firmwide workshops. I can't say enough good things about him. He is largely motivational, not ed or chamber. E. Stanga
At my banquet last year, I was looking for an inspirational speaker on values and what they mean to a community. Leadership and values and what it means to economic development or should I say people development. I was looking for someone that appreciated history and yet understood the future.
I found that person by talking with Bro./Dr. Adrian Rogers of Bellevue Baptist in Memphis. Dr. Rogers was just coming out of surgery when I tried to get him to come to speak so he couldn't come. After I told him what I was looking for, he asked if he could be so bold as to recommend someone.
He said there was only one person that fit that mold. Greg Addison, the pastor of Eastside Baptist Church of Paragould, Arkansas, was the greatest.
He was a lawyer with one of the most prestigious law firms in Memphis and the leader of most of their national accounts. Making high six figure money, he was not satisfied with the profession and where it was taking him.
He gave it all up for the chance to serve God and to change people in how they think and act toward their communities and to other people. His church has tripled in just over 3 years. Dr. Adrian Rogers said that there were only 2 people he would allow to fill his pulpit in his absence and Greg Addison is at the top of the list.
My banquet was a total success. My attendance went from a record 225 in 2003 to an overflow crowd of 320 in 2004 to hear Greg. For the first time ever, there were two standing ovations from the audience in response to his remarks. His inspiration led many to tears and most to laughter all in a span of just 25 minutes. He is also an avid historian of WWII. I would highly recommend him. He has strong ties in the Memphis area, so North Mississippi is within his grasp. I have his bio and other information is needed. 870- 935-3958

Greg Clausen is a humorist. He is fantastic. He is a ventriloquist and uses 1 person from the audience. He booked 5 events just from our meeting. Very clean and funny. I have used him three different times with different organizations. 1-800-293-8669. G. Martin
Bill Hudson is the best speaker I have ever heard. He owns Hudson's Salvage. 601-268-7555. A. Dvorak
My husband Steve Vassallo has spoken to businesses all over the country regarding economic development. He receives top rating all the time. 601-594-1919. R. Vassallo
Don't forget about Phil Hardwick. C. Hardwick
